Lessons I’ve learned mentoring

Gathering my girls this year has been nothing short of amazing. Everyday is an adventure, from our deep discussions, conflict resolution, shopping trips, cooking lessons, workshops and projects, I promise you there is never a dull moment. As much as I pour into them they pour right back into me.

✨Lessons I’ve learned mentoring:

💎 ITS MORE IMPORTANT TO LISTEN THAN TO INSTRUCT – Active listening promotes trust and respect. You can’t change anyone, but you can listen and that can change everything.

💎 TRUST IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY SKILL, ABILITY, OR KNOWLEDGE – Trust is the foundation that everything else is built on. It helps people feel safe and comfortable, increases morale, and creates a culture of teamwork and respect.

💎 POINT THE WAY, BUT LET THEM LEAD – Help them come up with their own solutions, it builds self confidence.

💎 MENTORSHIP IS A 2 WAY STREET – Strengthen your skills. Gain new perspectives. Remind yourself to follow your own advice.

💎 BE PASSIONATE – Let your enthusiasm and passion shine and help them tap into their own.

💎 REMEMBER YOUR WHY – I want these girls to stand up to things that I have never done because they will be more confident than I was.

💎 ASK LOTS & LOTS OF QUESTIONS

✨ And Most Important ✨

💎 HAVE FUN‼️
